LAUGHTER FOR TEARS

Acting is the craziest thing in the world a friend told me once, and being a good actor he says is knowing how to pretend that everything is alright when they are not, if his hypothesis is anything to go by, then Robin Williams was no doubt one of the greatest actors in the world. This man was the type that while he moved with perfect mastery only common in an actor of his pedigree, an alumnus of the Prestigious Julliard school in New York you cannot but be coasted along with him in his peaceful and serene plane of happiness. He made all of us forget that problems were present even when they really were. He made you laugh so much that even your problems laughed along with you.

But like the great actor that he was, he concealed his own turbulent life from the rest of us. The 4 times nominee of the prestigious Oscar award and winner of the Oscars as best actor in a supporting role in the movie Good will hunting in 1997, Robin Williams has died today of what the police suspects to be a suicide case. He was reported to be battling with drugs and alcohol addiction for long, a situation that compelled him to be admitted into a rehabilitation center in 2006.

It is unfortunate that the world has lost a rare gem as Robin Williams, a man who acted even till death, dishing out happiness while he was burning inside in a furnace of depression. Rest in peace, maestro.
